Every Sunday in December
10:30 AM – Coffee and refreshments
11:00 AM – Worship Service
PilgrimKids Program (ages 4-8) and Nursery (Infant through age 4) are both available.
Each Sunday this Neighborhood Christmas month, and 2x on December 24, we’ll hear the mind-spinning news that God is with us.
Starting with Matthew 1:23 “He shall be called “Immanuel, God with us,” we’ll hear of Jesus being with God eternally in John 1, then how God was recognized as being with us in John 1:14, then how and why Jesus of Bethlehem leaves being with us to be with God in John 7.
We’ll ask, ‘who’s with you?’ ‘Whom are you with?’ ‘Do we think we’re okay alone?’ ‘What if we lived in a world where no one was with us?’ ‘How can we be with God given our many issues, background, burdens, and doubts?’ ‘Is the need to be with someone else a sign of weakness, one’s temperament, an accident or something human?’
We’ll also note some other ways of relating to God such as “Life Under God”, “Life Over God”, “Life From God” or “Life For God” all of which distort our being with God into our preferred form of justification.
God’s ancient promise remains: “I will be with you to the end of the age.” It’s time for us to be with Him.
